The Incredible Years® Preschool BASIC Program Overview

Who It's For

This program is open to Durham County families with children ages 3–5 years old, including those who are:

  • Managing challenging behaviors at home or school
  • Looking to prepare their children for preschool or kindergarten
  • Wanting to learn positive parenting strategies in a supportive group setting

Families involved in early childhood or child welfare systems and those at high risk for conduct challenges are also welcome.

What to Expect

  • 14-week series with two-hour sessions each week
  • Offered in person and virtually
  • Small group format with interactive discussions and real-life practice
  • Led by trained, certified facilitators
  • Free to all Durham County families

The program is led by trained Parent Educators who specialize in child development, family support, and behavior guidance. All facilitators are certified in The Incredible Years® curriculum and committed to creating an engaging, supportive environment where parents feel encouraged and empowered.
